Abstract

In this research we intend to analyze aspects related to the ceramic production process - materials, techniques and styles that develop, recover traditions and are characterized as elements that make up the culture of a place. It is a reflection on how components available in a region can determine or influence the process of producing pottery. In the search for a set of ceramics for application of the proposed analysis, was chosen the collection formed by teacher and researcher Lalada Dalglish. This collection has about one thousand pieces of different origins, made from various techniques and procedures involving the ceramic do. The detailed study of this collection to gather information on each of its parts and the characteristics that identify the group helped in the construction of directions to analyze the ceramic object as an element directly related to their culture of origin: processes, techniques and themes that determine local production and define the characteristics associated with the culture in which it was produced. The information collected will be organized and compared to verify the common characteristics between the parts, their similarities and distinctions. Besides, the presentation of concepts related to collecting, objects and documentation processes, integrates research a catalog composed of images of all ceramics collection and presentation of case studies that discuss aspects that permeate the ceramic production and reflect on concepts that set out in parts.
