Abstract

"Appropriation photofilms" are films that stem from a preexisting photo archive. When transposed into cinema language and film length, the photographs undergo transformation both in form and content. How is such transposition carried out from the perspective of contemporary poetical creation? The analysis of a selected referential filmography allows the development of some answers to this questioning. The research is complemented by a practical stage - one of creation - in which the proponent will develop a photofilm from the photo file left by Valerio Vieira (1862-1941). (AU)
