Abstract

This research Project proposes a study in the development of microwave tomographic reconstruction technique. This techinque will be studied as a tool for processing and analysis of GPR data for forensic and archaeological investigations. Geophysical data inversion will be studied in order to evaluate the possibility of electromagnetic properties estimation integrated with microwave tomography, enhancing the data analysis. The study will be focused in the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), which consists in a heuristic global search method. This project provides the execution of research activities at the Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (Istituto per Il Rilevamento Elettromagnetico dell'Ambiente - IREA) at Naples, Italy, under the co-advisoring of Francesco Soldovieri, PhD. The research activities are distributed over seven months, between September, 2013 and March, 2014. (AU)
