Abstract

Land use and land cover (LULC) changes are occurring rapidly, above all in areas that compose the boundary arc of deforestation. The survey information and monitoring of LULC changes are indispensable to understand the changes processes, besides modeling the impact of changes on the environment. Remote sensing becomes a valuable source to acquire information because it can cover large geographic regions. Therefore, this project aims to detect the land use and land cover changes in the county of Cláudia - MT through satellite images and digital image processing. Beyond searching for causes, featuring its phenomena and impacts on the landscape of the county. (AU)
