Abstract This study aims at investigating the normative character of contemporary republican theory. Our analytical focus is directed mainly on the meaning of the concept of liberty, which is one of the most polemical concepts debated by political theorists nowadays. Bearing this concept in mind, the research shall examine Quentin Skinner's writing and some of the criticism his works on republicanism has received. | |
