Abstract

This study aims to establish a relationship betweem Corporate Social Responsibility and subsidiaries of Brazilian multinational corporations in foreign countries. The main objective is to identify the presence of Corporate Social Responsibility in the subsidiaries and, therefore, to analyze the relationship between this responsibility and other organizational aspects inherent to the subsidiaries and and to the corporation as a whole. Some organizational aspects regarding the hearquarters-subsidiary relationship, as well as environmental and social issues will be explored, followed by a established theoretical frame. It is intended to accomplish a multivariate analysis to support the quantitative and correlational implications of the study. The data collecting will be obtained through e-surveys sent to the headquarters presidents and vice-presidents of the largest Brazilian multinational corporations in terms of revenue. To demonstrate the development level of the countries where the subsidiares are active, the Human Development Index (HDI) will be used. The final intention of this research is to contribute to all existing literatures on CSR and multinational corporations. (AU)
