Abstract

Focusing attention on the editorial production of recent years in Mozambique, the project is defined as an approach to texts that fall within the area of memory, especiallyfocusing on the set of events linked to the process of liberation of the country and the construction of the national state. Opting for narratives centered on individual experience that takes place in close connection with the collective project, in other words, the transformation of society guided by the idea of independence, the proposal lies on the field of the relationship between literary life and society. Based on an accurate consultation of primary sources and interviews with some of the protagonists from recent history of Mozambique and researchers of the subject, it is intended verticalize discussion of the links between memory and narrative in contemporary times, considering aspects and problems prevailing in works published in the country since the end of the twentieth century, and thus allow the opening of new dialogues between literary studies and social sciences in the African Portuguese speaking.
