Abstract

The project has as main goal to study the utilization of separation processes by membranes in the production of sugarcane bagasse ethanol. It will be produced 2 different types of membranes from two different polymers, a comercial, polyamide 66, and a natural, cellulose triacetate, that will be produced from sugarcane bagasse. The technique of phase inversion will be carried out in the membrane production. Both membranes will be characterized physically and their properties of flow and permeability will be determined. The application of the membranes wiil be in the detoxification of hemicellulosic hydrolisate. (AU)
