Abstract

Occupation and exploitation history of natural resources by man has proven to be one of the main factors responsible for the natural habitats alteration. This process provided the conversion of native vegetation in agroecosystems. The increase of silvicultural areas in the São Paulo state, due to its economic importance, has resulted in the increase of its environmental importance. In this context, the biodiversity conservation in silvicultural landscapes depends on the collection of information about strategies that wild species utilize to adapt to anthropogenic changes. This study will determine diet, trophic interations, resource partitioning and space use of small mammals and their main predators (canids and felids) in silvicultural landscapes applying the methodology based on the determination of carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes.
