Abstract

In this present project we intend to apply Hori's method and Lie's canonical perturbation theory for the development of a second-order in masses model. Due to complexities of the averaging procedure on the second-order model, the model that we will develop will be a Semi-secular analytical model, i.e., averaging only the planetary fast angle, resulting in a 2 degree-of-freedom model. With these results we intend to increase our knowledge of the problem and extract physical interpretations about the second-order averaging procedure, such that it can be applied numerically for the construction of a second-order secular model.
