Abstract

Given the observed increase of international events and with Olympic games approaching in Rio de Janeiro, it is worth to investigate how the temporary exportations and the importations of animals are being made for such competitions. The main objective this work is to verify which external and internal factors are relevant for the strategy planning of international equestrian events with Brazilian participation. The Opportunities and Threats (outcome of the external environment analysis) and the Strengths and Weaknesses (outcome of the internal factors analysis) will be identified through the SWOT matrix. In order to reach the objectives herein mentioned, secondary data gathering and field survey will be performed, covering the main agents connected to the importation and exportation of horses for equestrian competitions.
