Abstract

We will study introductory academic discussion about the subject and the subjectivity in Foucault and Psychoanalysis (Freud and Lacan). We intend to make it because of the significance of these concepts in psychology and because of the presence of many areas of this science. We also think these authors contribute to discuss a lot of issues already crystallized within Psychology. Further, we believe that exists a tendency in the academy and science to treat Foucault and Psychoanalysis as totally antagonistic. Thus, we intend to speculate critically on the issue of subject and subjectivity as a possible point of contact between these authors, always respecting the theoretical divergences, limits, and possibilities. For this, we will make a bibliographic review guided by commentators, with preselected literature about subject and subjectivity in Foucault, next in Psychoanalysis (Freud and Lacan), and next in academic discussion about these theories.
