Abstract

Erysipelas is a condition involving the upper dermis and superficial lymphatic vessels that penetrate by breaks in the skin and is caused in most cases by beta-hemolytic streptococci of group A, B, C, F and G and Staphylococcus aureus including metaciclinas resistant (MRSA), whose diagnosis is based mainly on clinical manifestations, and the presence of comorbidities such as cirrhosis, may have serious outcome. This project aims to study the erysipelas in cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic patients admitted to the Hospital de Base, São José do Rio Preto (Liver Transplant Unit, Service of Gastro-Hepatology, Department of Internal Medicine and Vascular Surgery), in period of July 1, 2010 until December 31, 2012, through a retrospective study, which will examine the following characteristics: demographics, clinical data, complications and outcome in these patients electronic records available in System MV.(AU)
