Abstract

In the last thirty years, with the emergence of important works on the nature of historical knowledge and the methods employed in its writing, it is possible to affirm that historians experience more and more the "temptation of epistemology". In this context, Reinhart Koselleck and François Hartog hold a significant position for turning their questioning about time into a way of thinking the historical discipline itself. During my research internship at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS), I intend to analyze comparatively Koselleck's (modernity) and Hartog's (presentism) historiographical projects, placing them as counterpoints to what is currently produced in Brazilian anthropology (via the debate about Amerindian perspectivism) as a way to reflect on current issues in the theory of history. This project presents a detailed plan of activities, from participating in research seminars to working in libraries and collections, to be conducted in Paris between December 2013 and December 2014, under Hartog's supervision. Finally, I highlight the importance of my overseas internship to deepen the analysis and put to test the hypotheses raised in my postdoctoral research so far. (AU)
