Abstract Regulatory agencies are consequences of the Reform of the State and according to its makers they have the function of establishing rules and monitoring services and economic activities, which would no longer be exercised exclusively by the state. In the water sector, the creation of a regulatory agency established by law complemented 9.433/97 which implemented the National Water Resources. The objective of this project is to evaluate the performance of the National Water Agency (ANA) against various interests that arise around the control of water resources, understand how it exerts its role as regulator of conflicts emanating from the multiple uses of water and thus questioning what is your independence from the pressures and interests that it is susceptible. | |
