Abstract

This research project aims to study and to implement of power control techniques for the squirrel cage induction generator applied to the wind energy conversion systems. In this context it will be studied the dynamic model of a wind generation system with variable wind speed including the mechanical system (turbine and gearbox) and electrical system (generator and back-to-back converter), and thus also study the techniques of power control of induction generator. The design of the controllers will be based on one or combination of techniques such as: artificial intelligence, predictive control and sliding mode technique. This aim will be achieved through studies and computer simulations. Also, It will be built a low power prototype with an induction generator, a back-to-back converter, a signal conditioning board and a digital signal processor for the experimental verification of studied control techniques.
