Abstract

The purpose of this study will be evaluate whether different cusp inclination of total restorations provided by the Library of CEREC system (Sirona, São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil), combined with different stiffness materials, influence the stress distribution and resistance fracture. Two types of test, in vitro and in silico will be made, and three patterns of library CEREC, Asiatic, Young and Adult will be machinable in CADWaxx (VITA Zanhfabrik, Badsackinge, Germany) for scanning and a three-dimensional image in .stl file will be imported by software CAD (Computer Aided Design), Rhinoceros 4.0 (McNeel North America - Seattle - USA), and the resulting geometry exported to the finite element software ANSYS 13.0 (ANSYS, Inc. Southpointe - Canonsburg - USA) to understand the type and location of fracture in the vitro test. The in vitro 60 crowns patterns in epoxy resin, G10 (Accurate, USA), will be divided into six groups according to occlusal pattern, Asiatic, Young and Adult and subdivided according to material crown, high and low elastic modulus. All restorations are adhesively cemented and loaded to monotonic test in a universal testing machine EMIC (EMIC DL MF-200, Equipment and Systems Testing Ltd., Pinhais, Paraná, Brazil), with speed 0.5 mm/min to determination of fracture resistance. All fractures will classified according to type and location of failures in 60x optical microscopy and SEM for the source of the failure. The experimental results will be submited to an appropriate statistical test to perform inference on hypotheses pair significance level of 5%.
