Abstract

The ongoing doctorate project intends to use quantitative genetic theory to evaluate the impacts of evolutionary restrictions on the morphological diversification of the skull in Caniforms (Carnivora). The present internship proposal has two main objectives: firstly, to allow data gathering at four large North American museums of natural history in order to obtain a base data-set to fulfill the needs of the thesis; secondly, to undergo a supervised internship on morphological evolution, comparative methods and biomechanics.
