Abstract

This research Project aims at studying fire safety of school buildings for the young students (06 to 14 years-old) focused on the their safety in case of emergency. The study is divided in two phases. In the first one, the evaluation of firesafety conditions of existing school buildings is to be carried out and, in the second phase, an analysis of student´s flow in a specific school will be done. Besides the deepening of knowledge on firesafety and its influence on the architectural design of buildings, this study aims at contributing to the consolidation of a databank of students flow (velocity versus density) for application in computacional models.
