Abstract Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a frequent disease that affects dogs of any breed or age that are predisposed to a genetic mutation that reduces both the homogeneity and the quantity of lipids and keratin composing the epidermal barrier. Common clinical signs are pruritus and inflammatory lesions, thus diminishing life quality of the animals with AD. IL-31 carries the sensation of pruritus until the brain by linking to a specific receptor. The present study aims to standardize the technique for interleukin-31 (IL-31) mensuration by immunohistochemistry in healthy dog skin. All the animals used for this purpose will be free of any dermatological complains and provenient from clinical casuistics at the Veterinary hospital of UNESP -Botucatu. | |
