Abstract

INTRODUCTIONThe term perioperative evaluation includes everything that happens before, during and after the surgical procedure itself. In general, it is considered as perioperative the period that begins with the preoperative evaluation before the operation, and ends 30 days thereafter. The higher the risk of the individual patient, determined in the preoperative evaluation, the greater the need for postoperative surveillance. A tool to facilitate and accelerate this evaluation is therefore relevant medical interest.Nowadays, with the technological advancement, there are apps for smartphones that provide some of the existing algorithms as well as recommendations on strategies for prevention and treatment of complications. The quality of these existing apps, however, falls short of the expected and necessary. Besides the shortage of options, there are some disadvantages. The first, and very important for the Brazilian public, is the language. The apps available in the market are only in English, often complicated and impractical for use "at the bedside." Another negative point is the downgrade because the recommendations of the complications are not always addressed or do not match the most current treatment for that condition. Finally, in search in the web store apps iOS operating system from Apple Inc, we found the following apps: PreOpEval2, STAT Cardiac Clearance3, Surgical Risk4. We note, however, that not all algorithms or risk scores are present and which are based on recommendations of date.OBJECTIVEThe project objective is to develop and validate an app for iOS platforms (gadgets), which is pragmatic and updated to assist the activities related to perioperative evaluation.METHODSFor this project, we will divide the activities into five steps:* Step 1: Gathering requirements (features);* Step 2: Prototyping;* Step 3: Development and testing, validation of the deliverable and delivery;* Step 4: Validation of the project and adjustments;* Step 5: Registration and publication in the App Store.The app will meet the following requirements:1. Written in Portuguese and English;2. Good usability (easy to use);3. Intuitive interface (simple);4. Clean and pleasant design;5. Developed in Objective-C (iOS's native language), using Xcode version 4.6 or higher (integrated development environment and software free from Apple Inc) on a licensed computer Apple Inc;6. Compatible with iOS version 6.0 and higher;7. Tested on an official gadget Apple Inc;8. Available on the App Store (App Store Apple Inc) after sending a developer account for iOS devices Apple Inc;9. Current, containing recommendations and treatments in accordance with the recommendations of the II Guidelines for Perioperative Evaluation of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology;10. Divided into two levels:a. Level 1: Preoperative evaluation;b. Level 2: Decision to be taken following the flowchart for the prevention and treatment of complications.
