Abstract

This research will deal with different kinds of relationship between composers and performers, specially in what concerns the music composed in the current century in Brazil. We will begin with the historical context of the second half of the 20th century and, specially, with the practices related to indetermination, improvisation and live-electronics, and, from this context, approach situations in which the separation between composition and performance is questioned, with the emergence of figures such as the composer-performer, the creative-performer and the coauthor. Thus, will be developed reflections about themes such as collaboration, orality and specificity, which seem to us of particular significance about this repertoire. The research will also develop a practical aspect, related to the musical creation, so that the artistic practice and the theoretical reflection will mutually influence each other.
