Abstract Introduction: With the increase in obesity, the main form of treatment is the regulation of energy balance, with decreased caloric intake and / or increased energy expenditure, so that a reduction of adipose tissue occurs. Thus, the interaction between muscle and adipose tissue has been recognized as an important factor in maintaining body mass, highlighting the Irisin. The irisina is processed from products of the BDNF 5 gene in the skeletal muscle, whose expression is stimulated by PGC1± and PPAR ³. In fact, the exercise and the phototherapy singly are able to induce the release of PGC1± by muscle, which promotes mitochondrial biogenesis, angiogenesis and changes in muscle fiber type. Moreover, the irisina has been studied for its role in mediating the transdifferentiation of the subcutaneo adipose tissue for the thermogenic brown adipose tissue. These changes cause a significant increase in energy expenditure, which is an important factor for the maintenance and or loss of body mass. Thus, experimental evidence shows that the use of laser therapy combined with exercise swimming was effective in controlling the lipid profile, reducing the mass of adipose tissue, suggesting increased metabolic activity and changes in lipid metabolism. However, we not found data in the literature about the neuroendocrine modulation of energy balance or just of the thermogenesis involving the use of laser therapy and exercise in the obese population. Objective: Evaluate the effect of the use of laser therapy on the circulating irisina levels and anorexigenic and orexigenic factors associate to the aerobic exercise and interdisciplinary therapy for weight loss.Methodology: The study population will consist of 128 women, with 20-40 years old, body mass index (BMI) e 30 and <40, obese primary, divided into four groups (n = 32): 1) aerobic; 2) aerobic + phototherapy; 3) aerobic + sham and, 4) phototherapy. Will be evaluated the body composition, clinical and nutritional and lifesty. The blood will be collected for analyses. The study protocol should last 20 weeks comprising for three weekly sessions of aerobic exercise and application of phototherapy (when applicable). | |
