Abstract

The objective of the project will be to evaluate the effects of adding yeast in the diet of ruminants,of in vivo digestibility of nutrients, the efficiency of microbial synthesis, ruminal pH and ruminal N-NH3. The trial will be conducted in the Dairy Cattle sector of Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias da UNESP, Jaboticabal Campus, SP. The treatments will consist of four yeast levels (zero, 2, 4, and 6 grams/animal/day) added to the feed. Will be used four cannulated bovine distributed in a 4 x 4 latin square. In vivo digestibility of nutrients, the efficiency of microbial synthesis, ruminal pH and ruminal N-NH3 will be determined. Data will be analyzed by ANOVA and the means will be tested via Tukey at a 5% probability level. Statistical analysis will be done using SAS, and before running the analysis all variables will be tested for normality of the residual.
