Abstract

Tuberculosis is a zoonotic disease infectious contagious of great importance in public health, and its diagnosis and its epidemiology knowledge, are fundamental pieces in controlling and combating this disease. It is intended then perform microbiological and molecular epidemiologic diagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and species M. bovis in adult cattle slaughtered in slaughterhouses under Federal Inspection (SIF) of the São Paulo State. During the slaughter of the animals will be identified and collected tissue samples with macroscopic granulomatous lesions characteristics of tuberculosis. Will be held the bacterial isolation by microbiological culture and from isolated colonies is performed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and the genetic diversity and epidemiological characterization of the disease using the technique of Mycobacterial Interspersed Repetitive Unit/ Variable Number Tandem Repeat (MIRU/ VNTR) and geoprocessing the origin properties of infected animals slaughtered.
