Abstract This research topic of dissertation aims to study the removal of ions metallic silver and copper mixture using bentonite clay from aqueous solution in static system (bath) and dynamic (porous bed) systems, evaluating the parameters of removal efficiency and Mass Transfer Zone (MTZ) as well as the lifetime of the column through cycles adsorption / desorption of silver, aiming its concentration (recovery) for elution. The adsorbent and the clay-metal complex before and after cycles of adsorption / desorption will be characterized through X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and chemical analysis ray particle size (SEM and EDX), mercury porosimetry and helium pycnometry, BET (Determination of specific surface area, diameter, specific pore volume, adsorption isotherms), thermal analysis and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Mathematical models will be evaluated to describe the kinetic, thermodynamic equilibrium and behavior in fixed bed of clay to remove the noble metal. (AU) | |
