Abstract Cutaneous melanoma is a skin neoplasm with greater mortality and great unpredictability in its evolution. In disseminated disease, treatment options are ineffective. The search for new tumor markers may allow the prediction of evolution, a better understanding of the pathogenesis of melanoma and enables the discovery of molecular targets. The DCD protein is one of the 200 genes to identify human melanoma(gene signature). The oncogenic proteins DCD, CDK2, CDK4, STAT2, SAS, MDM2, LACRT, INT1, GLI1 and ErbB3 are present in the region 12q13, a region that is frequently amplified or overexpressed in malignant tumors. Pathways triggered by these genes are interconnected and act synergistically in some oncogenic mechanisms. In this project we intend to investigate the role of DCD in the pathogenesis of malignant melanoma and it's correlation with other biomarkers. | |
