Abstract

The main objective of this research is to assess how and to what extent the time involved in the preparation of documents and port's performance affects Brazilian exports. More specifically, it is intended to identify a number of variables related to the timing of some stages of the trade procedures and analyze the relationship between these variables and the Brazilian exports during the period of 2010-2013, by using a equation gravity. The proposed research is important, as results will possible enable a characterization of Brazilian profile in terms of efficiency in customs procedures, and provide an analysis of the impact of reducing time of trade on the Brazilian exports. Additionally, it will be possible to simulate scenarios and suggestions for public and/or private policies towards greater agility in the international trade procedures. (AU)
