Abstract

The civil construction, in several senses, is one of industrial sectors with large consumption of raw materials from non-renewable sources, large energy consumption for your supply chain and high production of waste and volumes for final disposal. There is a huge demand for social housing in Brazil and has been increasing steadily. Thus, this study seeks to investigate the application of systems LWF - Light Wood Frames for the production of housing units of social interest. A literature review on the subject will be held and the results will be organized into types of building system and materiality. Therefore, this work will study the trajectory of this building system from its origin, its technological development, its diffusion and use in Brazil on habitations, especially the potential application in social housing. A bibliographic review will mainly focus the use of certified wood from Brazilian production and analysis of the performance of LWF system, guided by the principles of NBR 15575/2013.(AU)
