Abstract This project aims to work out a post-doctoral research on the unity and diversity of the "pan-African ideology" in the pages of the world's most respected black magazine in the twentieth century, Présence Africaine, between 1947 and 1989. For pan-African ideal it means the set of political ideas that proclaimed the defense of the notions of liberation and African integration and African descent, while necessarily complementary moments, of struggle anti racist, anticolonial and later antineocolonial. The hypothesis guiding this project is that, when analyzing the Présence, we will define two different economic, social and cultural levels. This group will be temporarily called "Political Pan-Africanism". In the second group would be placed those authors, however, that claim the primacy of the economy sphere in the realization of this ideal, seeing politics, societies and culture as a result of the first embodiment We would therefore say they claim an "Economic Pan-Africanism". This particular topic - Pan-Africanism in Présence Africaine - aims to qualify the national knowledge about a political ideology that seeks rebirth in present day African political thought.
