Abstract

This proposal deals with studying analytical solutions for fully developed incompressible flows into parallel plates employing slip wall boundary condition, by considering Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. We intend to add the analytical solutions into the high performance platform, called Freeflow-2D, as an entrance profile of fluid and use them for simulating suitable problems. We need to point out that in this platform is only implemented the no-slip boundary condition, hence, the student will have to study and add the slip boundary condition, first of all. In order, to verify whether this addition has been done correctly, the analytical solutions will be useful: simulate the fully developed flow and compare the numerical solutions across the channel with the analytical solutions of this problem. We would like to study numerically an application of industrial relevance, by analyzing the behaviours from the new condition and by comparing them with data described in the literature, if they exist.
