Abstract We will study the chiral symmetry breaking in QCD and other strongly interacting gauge theories with the use of Schwinger-Dyson equations. We will introduce in these equations two gluon propagators, an effective one whose origin is atributed to confinement and the usual one-dressed dynamically massive gluon exchange. The solution of these equations can lead to a particular quark self-energy which can be used in several calculations, like the pion transition form factor, and also the production cross-section of a pair of mesons (one vector and one pseudo-scalar meson).
