Abstract The aim of this study is evaluate loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) and PCR for molecular diagnostic of Brazilian isolates of Trypanosoma vivax in bovines experimentally infected during apparent aparasitemic phase of infection. T. vivax is a hemoprotozoan that infects equines, bovines, camels and other ruminants, mainly in Africa and South America, where causes relevant economic losses. Reports of outbreaks by T. vivax in ruminant's herds are increasing in the last years in Brazil. Ruminants can be considered T. vivax reservoirs because show low or none parasitemia and lack of clinical signs, which contribute to the parasite spread to non-endemic areas. Thus, faster and precise molecular diagnose techniques are required to stop T. vivax dissemination in Brazilian territory, especially that ones feasible in field conditions like LAMP. (AU) | |
