Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the behavior of polycrystalline tetragonal zirconia partially stabilized with yttria (Y-TZP), with and without surface treatment against the shear bond with ceramic cover. This is to be carried out surface treatment with aluminum oxide abrasive 50¼m before and after sintering specimen totaling three groups (n = 10) C-ST (shear without surface treatment), C-PRE (shear pre-treated sintering) and C-POS (shear pos-treated sintering). For the shear test specimens are cut into disc format and receive a ceramic cover following the protocol of surface treatment for each group. The analysis of the type of fault coverage at the interface ceramic / Y-TZP after fractures will be performed in all specimens to receive the classification according to the type (s) (s) fail (s) observed (s): Failed adhesive (A), cohesive failure of the ceramic casing (C) or mixed when the two types of failures, adhesive / cohesive are present (CA). The results of bond strength will be submitted to two-way ANOVA (± = 0.05), and Tukey's test for comparison between groups. (AU)
