Abstract

Complex Systems are composed by discrete parts that interact in nonlinear way. The analysis of such systems has fundamental importance in the study of brain, society, Internet, World Wide Web and food webs. Recent works have allowed the description of the structure of such systems in a detailed way. Some properties revealed to be universal, including modular structure and high level of heterogeneity in the number of connections. Nowadays, the complex networks researches are concentrated, mainly in determining how topological properties influence dynamical processes. In this project, our goal is analyze how the complex networks organization interfere in the emergence of explosive synchronization. The proposed investigations complement diverse previous works and should help in a better understanding of factors that can cause the emergence of such phenomenon. Such studies will allow a greater understanding of the relation between structure and function in complex systems.
