Abstract

The main aim of this proposal is to study the quantification of uncertainties in the identification of Volterra kernels associated with a Duffing oscillator. The project intends to investigate by numerical simulations the uncertainties contained in the Volterra kernel identification to try to understand how they behave in function of the type of input applied, number of kernels considered, number of orthonormal basis, structure of nonlinearities, etc.. Once it is known this behavior, it would be possible to define a statistical confidence limit to quantify the uncertainties in a further procedure of damage detection
