Abstract

Objective: the purpose of this study will be to optimize Multiwalled carbon nanotube/nylon-6 (MWNT/nylon-6) by electrospinning and to determine the improving effect of flexural resistance properties of these composite nanofibers, aligned or non-aligned on direct adhesive fixed partial denture. Method: MWCNT will be functionalized (F-MWCNT) using 12 N of HCl for 5minutes, washed in distilled water, dry for 24h/32oC. Nylon-6 will be dissolved 10% HFP (1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol) and mixed in 1,5% F-MWNT weight concentration. The mixture will be left overnight stirring and sonicated before electrospun. two different composites nanofibers disposition will be made using high voltage and a collector with 120 (non-aligned) and 6,000 (aligned) rpm for 10h and dried in a vacuum oven at 32oC/24h. Then 10 strips with 2x25mm of each will be prepared as reinforce, inner composite resin 2x2x20mm (Grandio SO-VOCO), for flexural test in a universal test machine at a crosshead speed of 1 mm/min.
