Abstract

Dermatologic surgery is an area of intense growth in recent decades, and reality increasingly present in everyday dermatologists. Highlights the need for further work to demonstrate the safety and success of surgical procedures and the postoperative complications. The main postoperative complications are wound infection, bleeding, dehiscence, necrosis of the wound and scars. Due to lack of studies in this area, the objective of this work is to identify the frequency and major complications in the immediate postoperative period as well as correlating the sociodemographic, clinical and surgical complications with dermatological surgeries. Method: A cohort and analytical study with patients undergoing surgical removal of skin lesions by the Department of Dermatology, Hospital of the Medical School of Botucatu - UNESP. It will be analysed sociodemographic, clinical and surgical characteristics and the risk of complications in the first days after dermatologic surgery and after 30 days. Regarding the sample size, pre-test will be conducted with 500 subjects, for subsequent resizing sample. The proportions of complications between the groups will be compared using the chi-square or Fisher exact test. The magnitude of the bivariate associations will be defined by the relative risk and its confidence interval of 95%. After bivariate analysis, the independent variables that show association with complications with level p <0.1 compose risk model multivariate (logistic regression). The magnitude of association is measured by the odds ratio and confidence interval of 95%. Data will be analyzed by SPSS 20 software. Be considered significant value of p <0.05.
