Abstract

Cost-effective industrial manufacture of organic acids using Saccharomyces cerevisiae is impaired by an insufficient free-energy conservation during sucrose consumption in anaerobiosis. Therefore, research focusing on sucrose metabolism is necessary. In this context, this project aims at investigating the role of isomaltases in the aforementioned metabolism.
