Abstract

Under the auspices of scientific-technical development , live -oriented posterity , seeking wellness and prevention ensuring a "better future " . The current National Agenda of Priorities for Research in Brazilian Health brings mental health as a necessary investment and research area, having as one of its foci are directed towards the juvenile population health technologies. Against the north studies of Science , Technology and Society (STS ) , is attentive to what and how science and psychiatric practice are building techniques to guarantee the mental well -being of so-called " future of the nation ." The proposed research is based on a case study of a Psychosocial Care Center juvenile ( CAPSi ) , which gives institutionalizing practices of current psychiatric science, implemented by the Brazilian public policy and mental health based on principles of multidisciplinary approach . The objectives of this study is to understand the relationship of race to legitimize the care of child and adolescent mental health , assessing what the social impact of a presumed scientific hierarchy with the supremacy of Psychiatry ; using documentary analysis of medical records of individual users of the center, semi-structured interviews with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team responsible for the service demand it , and participant observation at meetings of case discussion about users of the Centre. With the results , aims to be a way of introducing the CTS studies in a recent thematic and full of loopholes ; well as assist in raising prospects reflections and revisions in the production of public policies .
