Abstract Switched systems are composed by a finite number of subsystems and a rule that selects at each instant of time one of them. In our context, the switching rule is a control variable to be designed in order to assure stability and good performance. Nowadays the interest on the study of these systems is increasing due to the large field of applications, such as power electronics and networked control. Moreover, they have intrinsic and important characteristics that allow to obtain a stable trajectory even if all subsystems are unstable or to enhance the performance of the overall system even if all subsystems are stable. The literature presents several works related to the analysis and performance certification of switched linear systems, however, there are only few works concerning switched affine systems. The goal of this research project is to initiate the study on discrete-time switched systems. This preliminary study is important to establish a solid theoretical basis for a future Master Degree project. In principle, the main idea is to study stability and H2 performance for discrete-time switched linear systems and, afterwards, to treat switched affine systems using the existent literature. Numerical simulations of the existent methods will be developed by using Matlab enviroment. | |
