Abstract

The general purpose of the project is to analyse and estimate the FAPESP's contribution to the agricultural development process in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The study will cover the following stages of analysis: I) Identify recent changes in agriculture through the analysis of statistical time series data; II) Visit and revisit the main institutions dedicated to human capital formation and technological innovation; III) Update the analysis of aggregate and FAPESP's time series data of investments in agriculture; and, IV) Estimate the total factor productivity (TFP) in agriculture, as well as the importance of human capita formation and of FAPESP's projects in the process of technological development.
