Abstract

The information culture is a culture based on information, which is shared and built with sociocultural processes. The problem addressed by this project to investigate the socio-cultural conditions that influence the personal behavior to produce and use information in the competitive context of the organizations. This research also aims to present how the field of Documentation in Spain understands the information culture and diagnoses the information culture patterns in the Electrical Installation or/and Industry Automation, Industrial Control and Electronics of Spain. We realize that informational culture influences the informational behavior, therefore, it explaines the necessity of investigation about the factors and processes that compose it. In addition, this research is important to add to theoretical discussions by studies in information science. The methodological procedures provided include a review of the literature in Spain, as well as data gathering with questionnaires based Likert scale from managers of sector Electrical Installation or/and Industry Automation, Industrial Control and Electronics in industries of Spain. The analysis of the results will be based in identify the correlation of trends in the responses obtained. In addition, a documentary research is needed to better understand the industry investigated. The findings will include the design of information culture in a specialized environment, and then the analysis of culture in the specific sector, and to communicate the results in scientific papers.
