Abstract

Clay minerals of a freshwater lake supposedly originated by degradation of a saline lake will be studied aiming to establish possible genetic relationship with the clay minerals typically formed in the saline-sodic soils surrounding the saline lakes. The samples will be identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and chemically characterized by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).
