Abstract

The cuesta relief extends into the central portion of São Paulo state, being followed by a large peripheral depression, where praires and meandering rivers are constituted, described by Deffontaines (1945, p.18). Approximately comprehends an area of 14,000 square kilometers, (TROPPMAIR, 2000, p. 62), with a remarkable feature of this region. In some spots is likely to have altitudes nearly 1,000 m (ALMEIDA, 1974, p. 76), like the basaltic mountain range of Monte Santo and 1,200 m like on Minas Gerais border (Passa Quatro and Muzambinho mountain ranges) and then the presence of testimonial slopes and front festooned, showing complexity on the region's relief. Therefore, this project aims to study the region of Analândia, in São Paulo countryside, located on the transition band between the cuesta and the peripheral depression partitioning. It will be studied a spatial cutout on specific cuesta relief band, inside Analândia, located on area between the following geographic coordinates: latitudes 22 º 07' 26.3'' S e 22 º 06' 35.2" S and longitudes 47 º 42' 47.7" W 47 º 42' 22.8" W. By morphostructural studies based on the scale of 1:50,000 it will be intended to clarify some aspects of the morphotectonic influence on this relief form. For the development of the cited morphostructural study, will be elaborated the letters of drainage density, drainage profundity, clinographic and structural features.
