Abstract

This present project of scientific initiation is part of studies developed by the Group of Quaternary Studies of UFSCar- Campus Sorocaba, that seeking to understand the natural physical environment, correlate the urbanization and the others forms of human appropriation in the relief and soil because they are acting factors in geomorphology of the metropolitan region of the Sorocaba and your enthrones. The river basin of Taquaravaí is located in a transition strip between the Atlantic Plateau and the Peripheral Depression Paulista, which understands thus, an important environmental unit in Sorocaba region that at first marked by a quite diverse landscape, understanding rural and urban areas. Starting from the assumptions left by geosystems (Sotchava, 1977) associated with systematizing categories (Rodriguez, 2004), search to an understanding of soil use and natural landscapes. The work will have the contributions of classical and moderns technics associated with Environmental Geomorphology, as the production of thematic maps, field works and survey of morphometric and morphostructural data. To during the research expected to relate the data obtained, with the fields survey, mappings and bibliographical materials. The main contribution of this work will be the process analysis modeling relief and the understanding of environmental dynamics, assuming the natural and anthropic actions in the river basin to be studied.
