Abstract

This proposal aims to the production and characterization of electronic devices based on SnO2 nanowires/nanobelts useful for the ozone detection. This material is an excellent candidate for the construction of various electronic devices such as light sensors, transistors and different gas detectors. Here we propose the investigation of electronic properties of devices based on a single nanowire or on a film of them. Their changes when exposed to different environments where the temperature, the exposure time to a gas and ligthning will be carefully controlled. The proposed activities allow the candidate to learn basic techniques for the production of samples, construction of devices and study of their properties. Additionally, a chamber for the experiments will be constructed.
