Privacy in times of network: a writing an entry

Abstract

In times of network we live the tension between private and public. Either by sharing its own information through the various online media, destabilizing the binding of the private as opposed to public, or by seizing information from companies establishing surveillance on what should remain hidden(conversations, files, images) - always legitimized by the documents governing the terms of service, principles and privacy in cyberspace interactive environments. We consider the materiality of the virtual space and, in particular, the tools that mediate interpersonal relationship network which provide the framework of the senses and, as well as impose silences, erasures. And thus, make in such environments, there is no space for difference, imposing segregation or the need for some individuals to reinvent themselves to exist there. This is added by the expressiveness of institutional voices, an essential component of the contract which is accepted to navigate, basically composed by the speech of media companies in network and its interests within the trade in personal data, preferences and interests. Therefore, and in view of the transformative potential that the definitions can have on building relationships with the society and ones memory, here we seek to build the entry for privacy ENDICI: Discursive Encyclopedia of City. To do so, we will follow the project proposal, ie the prismatic reading file, which brings together the faces of definition (dictionaries) and update (terms of service) of the meaning and also the performance of the State (Federal Constitution).
