Abstract

The response process on the Rorschach has been studied since its inception. On the basis of the resolution of the Rorschach task are the cognitive processes, however, the projective mechanism may be one of the identified manifestation. Various systems have organized implementations for improving the assessment generated by the Rorschach, which is seen in the Exner Comprehensive System (CS) and in the Rorschach Performance Assessment System (R -PAS). The present study aims to identify any pattern of cognitive and projective manifestation and to determine possible effects of the R-Optimized administration, a new pattern of administration organized by R-PAS, on the response process. On a first moment, will be used a database including a sample of 600 non-patient Brazilian adults CS protocols, both genders, aged between 18 and 67 years and various educational levels. Analysis will be conducted, to identify any pattern and differences of cognitive and projective manifestation on the initials and finals responses, initials and finals cards, and chromatic and achromatic inkblots. In second moment, will be used a sample of 315 individuals, 255 non-patients and 60 patients with schizophrenia, administrated according to the CS and R-PAS. Analysis will be conducted to identify differences on the response process between R-Optimized and non Optimized administration, on clinical and non clinical samples. For both studies, descriptive and comparative, Student T test and ANOVA, analyzes between groups will be calculated, also the magnitudes of the differences will be evaluated by Cohen d coefficient and it will be checked for occurrence of Type I errors through the statistical power (²-1).
