Abstract

The validation of defining characteristics provides evidence to the evaluation of the patient and definition of reliable clinical diagnoses. The objective of this study is to validate the content of the defining characteristics for the nursing diagnosis of noncompliance in post heart transplantation patients. Operational definitions to the defining characteristics of the diagnosis of noncompliance will be developed and refined by a group of researchers and after it will be submitted to a group of experts to obtain the degree which each defining characteristic is indicative of the diagnosis of noncompliance in post heart transplantation patients. The proceedings of analysis of the data will be oriented by the proportion of concordance among the experts keeping the characteristics that obtained concordance above 50%. The results obtained in this study will contribute to clinical validation studies for the diagnosis of noncompliance in heart transplantation.
